Scorpions Rise In FIFA Rankings

The Gambia national team Scorpions have risen three places in the latest global FIFA rankings released earlier today. The rise comes after gaining points for the 0—0 draw at home against Mali in the CHAN 2018 qualifiers despite the heavy reversal in the second-leg that eventually saw the team bow out.

The latest rise marks a combined total of 22 (twenty two) places that the Scorpions have gained in 2017 so far.

With three FIFA windows for international matches remaining for the rest of the year, the Scorpions will have plenty of opportunities to continue their steady rise.

Senegal remain the highest ranked team in the WAFU zone that The Gambia belongs to whilst Egypt maintain their place as the best ranked team in Africa.

Brazil have returned to the top of the rankings with Germany falling down a place with Argentina remaining in third place. Switzerland and Poland hold their highest ever positions with a remarkable fourth place and fifth place respectively to round out the top five globally.
