Scorpions Head Coach Sang Ndong has announced a 23-man squad that will take part in a series of friendly matches in Morocco in the upcoming FIFA international window.

Ndong has maintained many of those that have featured for the Scorpions this year but contains new faces in the form of Raymond Mendy of CS Sfaxien and Mohamed Badamosi of FUS Rabat. Ablie Jallow of FC Metz has had his senior Scorpions debut delayed due to his current injury status. However, Ebou Adams, on loan to Shrewsbury Town from his parent club Norwich City, is another new face which adds a bright and youthful look to the Scorpions squad.

The GFF has a bi-lateral agreement with the Moroccan Federation (FRMF) and as the country gears up to host CHAN 2018, a series of international friendlies are scheduled to take place in order to prepare for the tournament. FRMF has similar agreements with the likes of Mauritania, Niger, Malawi, Liberia, Rwanda and Togo and the Scorpions expect to have two matches during their stay in Morocco – the Scorpions will be based in the tourist haven of Marrakech.

The Scorpions are in Group D of the AFCON qualifiers with their next competitive game in March 2018 against the Desert Foxes of Algeria at home. These friendlies present the final opportunity for those to stake their place in the squad for the huge challenge that the Algerians will present.
