Scorpions Conduct First Training Session

Ahead of the Gambia’s friendly outing to Morocco in Marrakech slated for Monday November 13th, the Scorpions have conducted their first training session at the Marrakech stadium on Thursday evening.

Under the flood lights, the full list of players have all turned up for the training and has been assessed by the Coach as successful as always.

Addressing the players at the hotel conference room on Thursday afternoon, Coach Sang Ndong urged the players to take the camping seriously as according to him, ‘this is our final FIFA break before the resumption of the qualifiers. It has not been so easy for us but thanks to the GFF for pushing the matter until today’. He advised the players to take advantage of the opportunity accorded them and fight for their rightful places in the team.

GFF 2nd Vice President Ebou Faye who is heading the delegation in Marrakech also urged the selected players to consider themselves as lucky hence not all could be part of such a selection. He advised them to take the call ups as an opportunity and utilize it well to fight for their positions in the national team. He emphasized that the GFF will do all efforts to support their course hence all the burden is been footed by the football federation.

The latest player to have joined the camp was Yusupha Bobb from Italy.

The team will resume training at the stadium on Friday morning before joining the congregation at the Marrakech central mosque for the Friday prayers later in the afternoon.
