Nigeria’s Akwa United are through to the next stage of the CAF Confed Cup Qualifiers after Cyril Olisema scored in each half to pack away Gambia’s Hawks in a 3-2 aggregate.

Hawks won the first leg away in UYO 2-1 in what was described as a surprise result and thus bringing Akwaa daunting task to make amends in the return fixture.

Cyril Olisema broke the deadlock minutes before the end of first half when he passed Hawks goalee Adama Gassama following a defensive blunder by Hawks combative defender Mass Manga.

Although the visitors missed out a converted kick opportunity before the man of the match Olisema doubled his side’s advantage. Akwa United then led comfortably 3-2 on aggregate when Hawks started to regain sights but it appears too late for a possible comeback.

The Banjul result has paved way for Akwa to progress to the 1/16th round, squaring off with  AlIttihad of Liya
